Thomas Newman, Jr. was a safety patrol captain at Hazelwood Grade School and an "A" sweater winner for golf, before becoming an assistant to Congressman J. Edward Roush. Mr. Newman served as the Assistant Majority Attorney of Indiana House of Representaives before an impressive career as a Judge in Madison County for 43 years.

Mr. Newman recceived his B.A. and M.A. from American University in Washington, D.C. and a J.D. (Doctor of Jurisprudence) from Indiana University Law School.
